Practicum 8 -- Erika

final reflections on blogging...
overall, blogging was pretty fun. i enjoyed discovering how to create and manage a blog, even though it really takes a big time commitment to stay on top of updating it. it definitely made me realize the global potential of creating your own "space" on the world wide web when i saw that people from 7 other countries besides the united states were viewing my blog. for the majority of the time i felt disconnected from the audience/viewer because there wasn't a lot of back and forth conversations. i got one comment and had 8 followers by the end. on the facebook event that i created to get the word out i had 79 people "attending". all time page views was 641 with majority of the views happening in october. as of right now i probably won't blog unless i, for example, were to go somewhere overseas for an extended time. i feel like blogging is somewhat of a dying art with other things replacing it. however, i think that it does have some cool features as it offers a pretty easy-to-use space for the average internet user to share ideas and thoughts. overall, good experience working with "web 2.0" material and experiencing another way that people use the internet.
