Blog 3: I-dosing
Before I heard about the concept in class, I watched a few videos which I think are similar to i-dosing with one of my friends a couple months ago because he heard about it from someone at work...and because we must have been bored. The videos we watched were only like 1-2 minutes long, but it was hard to focus even for that short amount of time. They didn't have sound, but they did have weird special effects that were apparently supposed to mimic sensations that you'd feel when taking drugs like narcotics or hallucinogens. I'm not sure if the videos have to include sound to be considered i-dosing, but one of the definitions I found online (@ http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1296282/I-dosing-How-teenagers-getting-digitally-high-music-download-internet.html#ixzz11LSFqj00) just described the concept as "digital drugs" that are used to change one's brain. Other websites defined it solely in relation to audio tracks and music. While checking out some videos, I found this YouTube video mocking the phenomenon, which is kind of entertaining, yet left me with the same feeling of wasting a minute of my life: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FQo1bMzX9g
