So in my presentation way back when, someone asked me if everyone spoke mainly English on Second Life, or if there was a bunch of different languages being spoken. My answer was that it was mostly English that i saw. This is still true, but today I was looking in the destination guide, which is a guide for all the different places and events you can go to, and I saw a German "hot spot" and I decided to check it out. All of the instructions were in German, and in the chat people were also speaking German. However in the chat there is a box you can click for translation which then translates the German to English. This is just a little example of what it looked like...
[10:06] Nilz Christian: Hiho ;)
[10:09] Felllina Brune: ★(`'·.¸(`'·.¸ MAAARSIIII ¸.·'´)¸.·'´)★ (★ ★ (`'·.¸(`'·.¸ MAAARSIIII ¸.·'')¸.·''))
[10:11] Marsi Wonder: ich seh nur grau....auch fein.... (I see only gray fine .... also ....)
[10:11] Felllina Brune: hmmm.mal omo oder persil ;) (hmmm.mal Omo or Persil;))
[10:11] Marsi Wonder: leicht lag hier mmh? (easily lay here mmh?)
[10:14] Felllina Brune: =(-,-)=HuHuuuuuuuuu=(-,-)=
[10:14] Felllina Brune: tarja
[10:14] Marsi Wonder: duke is ne wolke...*heul (duke is a cloud ...* heul)
[10:14] Marsi Wonder: hiers ind viele wolken (Hiers ind many clouds)
[10:14] Marsi Wonder: mmmh
[10:14] Ohpium Avora: hallo (Hello)
[10:15] Marsi Wonder: hi
[10:15] Ohpium Avora: bin ich auch noch eine wolke? (I'm still a cloud?)
[10:15] Marsi Wonder: weiss garnet wo du stehst (garnet know where you stand)
...Even though some of it translates, I can't really understand what they are saying. I am guessing this is because they are speaking in some sort of second life code that does not easily translate to English. Ironically, after that I was looking at some of the live events in the destination guide and I found this event...

There are a bunch of different things you can do on second life, and apparently one of them is learning to speak English. I Would have checked it out, but I already missed it.
