Practicum #4

Do you remember playing Neopets as a kid or any of the other kid games that were explain in class a few weeks ago? Well from what I remember you could trade things, or use fake money to buy food, clothes, or supplies for your character/pet, but on Kongregate you have to use ACTUAL money. They are called ‘Kreds.’ They are described as “virtual coins that can be spent on cool stuff at Kongregate. Once your account is funded, you'll be able to instantly purchase power ups, virtual items and even be able to donate funds directly to the developer of your favorite game. While games on Kongregate will always be free for anyone to enjoy, Kreds will enable players to purchase bonuses that would not otherwise be available. It's just another way we enable people to have fun while game developers earn their livings.” There is no way that I am going to pay to play dumb little games. There also is this hilarious ting called a “Tip Jar.” I don’t mean to be mean because this tip jar helps the developers but I don’t see how many people would actually donate money to the site, but I could be wrong, there are some hardcore gamers out there.
