Practicum #7-Michelle

Today I came across something new and different on the discussion board. I read a post written by a mother about her daughter who is 15 and pregnant. In the past I've only read posts written by pregnant teens or posts written by people who were pregnant when they were teenagers. The responses were similar to ones I've read before, they were all very supportive and informative. However I did notice people were open to sharing their contact information which I have never seen before. I think its related to the fact that the person who made the original post is older and more mature than most of the users on the website.

I also decided to explore the "ask an expert" option. From what I can tell experts post answers to questions but there is no way of telling where or who the questions came from. When I clicked on a specific question I was taken to the article and from there I was able to find out more information about the author. The author has a verification stamp from the website although there is no indication about what it means to be verified. After reading a bio I found the option to read other Q&A, tips, news, and opinions from the author. The author posts new articles at least once a week and sometimes more. I hope that besides asking other teens that the people posting their questions are also asking the experts.
